Homemade sugar-free chokeberry juice recipe
Ingredients:
- 4 to 5 pounds of chokeberries (yielding about 1 quart of juice)
- Juice of 1 lemon
Preparation:
- Place the chokeberries in freezer bags and freeze for 48 hours to remove the bitterness.
- After 48 hours, rinse the fruits under warm running water.
- Blend the fruits and strain through a cloth-lined sieve, or use a juicer or juice extractor.
- Add the lemon juice to the extracted chokeberry juice and mix thoroughly. Pour the juice into sterilized jars or bottles.
- Sterilize the jars in cold water for 25 minutes from when the water starts to boil, then reduce the heat.
- After sterilization, place the jars upside down on a cloth and let them cool for at least 24 hours. Store in a shaded place.
