Zverev’s ace romance: Tennis star and actress Sophia Thomalla's Maldives getaway
Following the completion of the tennis season, German player Alexander Zverev embarked on a much-needed vacation. Zverev chose the Maldives as his relaxation spot. However, he wasn't alone -- he was joined by the distinguished actress Sophia Thomalla, his romantic partner since 2021.

The grueling tennis season has drawn to a close for the top players, although some athletes outside the global premier leagues are still striving to boost their rankings before 2024. Alexander Zverev is not among this latter group.
This season marked Zverev’s return to official competition after an injury-induced absence since June 2022. He made his return in an exhibition tournament at the year's end and subsequently participated in more competitive events.
In 2023, Zverev claimed victory at two tournaments, delighting local fans with a win in Hamburg, Germany, and triumphing in Chengdu, China. These successes earned him a spot in the ATP Finals event at the season's end, although a 2-1 record in the tournament didn't permit him to progress beyond the group stage.
Zverev finished the season ranked 7th in the ATP World Rankings. Now in relaxation mode, he's chosen the Maldives, like Iga Świątek, as his holiday destination. He's spending his time with his partner, Sophia Thomalla.
Zverev’s current romantic interest is Germany’s Sophia Thomalla, a noteworthy actress, presenter, and model. She's gained recognition for her roles in series including 'Kobra - Special Department' and 'The Mountain Doctor', broadcast in Poland.

Thomalla has been involved in several high-profile relationships in the past. In 2016, she married Norwegian singer Andy LaPlegua, but they divorced a year later. Since 2018, she was linked to Loris Karius, but this relationship ended in 2021. In October that same year, Thomalla and Zverev publicly declared their romantic partnership.
