A brownie is a simple chocolate cake consisting of butter, chocolate, eggs, and a bit of flour. It is sweet, moist, and incredibly chocolatey—a true feast for any sweet tooth. The cake has one fairly large downside—it's very high in calories.

That doesn't mean you have to give up on this treat. Discover the recipe for a fit brownie version. After baking, it's an insanely fluffy and moist treat. This is thanks to a particularly unusual seasonal vegetable that can be bought in any store during the summer.

How to make a good brownie

Brownie was invented in our country. We can thank a specific librarian who forgot to add baking powder while preparing a chocolate cake. This is how one of the most popular chocolate cakes in the world was created.

How to make a good brownie? The most important ingredient here is butter because it is responsible for the cake’s unique, almost pouring consistency. And let's not forget about the chocolate. Classic brownie is made with 70% chocolate, which gives it a deep, chocolatey flavor. The batter also includes eggs, sugar, and a bit of flour to bind all the ingredients together. The cake can be enriched with any additives, such as nuts, fruits, or cheesecake filling.

However, there is a way to reduce the cake’s calorie content without losing its intense, chocolatey flavor. Add grated zucchini. This will make the cake about half as calorie-dense. Discover the simple recipe below.

Zucchini brownie — recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium zucchinis
  • 18 oz of flour
  • half a stick of butter
  • 3 eggs
  • half a cup of cocoa
  • 1 cup of sugar or erythritol
  • teaspoon of baking powder
  • teaspoon of baking soda

Preparation:

  1. Wash, dry, and grate the zucchini on a coarse grater.
  2. Place them in a sieve to remove excess water.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the eggs and sugar into a fluffy mass.
  4. Add the flour, baking powder, cocoa, soda, and melted butter. Mix again.
  5. Finally, add the zucchini. Pour the ready batter into a baking tray lined with parchment paper and place it in an oven preheated to 365°F, heating top and bottom. Bake for 35-40 minutes. Enjoy!
