Zelensky warns of risks if U.S. shifts policy on Ukraine
While visiting Reykjavik, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky responded to a question about Donald Trump's possible success in the upcoming U.S. presidential elections. He remarked that, although the election outcome is uncertain, they are fully aware of the associated risks, speaking from Iceland's capital.

At a press conference with the prime ministers of Nordic countries, Zelensky emphasized that the biggest danger would be a change in U.S. policy. He also noted that power in the United States is not limited to the president but involves Congress.
The Ukrainian president stressed that the lack of further support for Ukraine would mean a great victory for Putin and significant losses for the West and democratic values. He added that Ukraine has its plan for victory, although it is challenging to implement, and expressed gratitude for European support.

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, referring to Zelensky's statements, emphasized that Europe should clearly support Ukraine more. He also highlighted the importance of transatlantic cooperation for both sides.
The head of the Danish government, Mette Frederiksen, pointed out the support that Russia receives from North Korean troops, as well as from Iran and China. She emphasized that Europe is dealing with a threat to global security.
Zelensky arrived in Reykjavik to participate in a session of the Nordic Council, which includes Iceland, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands.
