Volodymyr Zelensky spoke on Tuesday during an extraordinary plenary session in the European Parliament commemorating 1,000 days of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. He connected with the attendees remotely.

The Ukrainian president conveyed appreciation for the steadfast commitment to European values throughout every day of the thousand-day-long conflict. He emphasized that Ukraine, together with Europe, allies in the United States, and global partners, not only prevented Putin from seizing control of Ukraine but also safeguarded the freedom of all European nations.

"Together we can force Russia"

The President of Ukraine also stated that "even with North Korea on his side, Putin remains weaker than a united Europe."

- If we were able not only to stop Putin from capturing Ukraine but also to defend European values, then together we can force Russia into a fair peace agreement - said Zelensky, also reminding that two years ago Ukraine proposed a peace formula and the European Parliament was one of the biggest supporters of this solution.

- The one who most opposed peace was the one who violated it, namely Putin - said the President of Ukraine.

Zelensky also called on EU politicians to ensure that every attack and threat from Russia is met with harsh sanctions capable of radically reducing the Kremlin's economic and military capabilities. As he noted, Moscow is still earning from the sale of, for example, oil transported by the so-called shadow fleet. - As long as this kind of business exists, Russia will keep killing. Severe sanctions are crucial - he conveyed.

Zelensky on Putin: He won't stop

- When some European leaders think, for example, about winning elections in their own country, Putin focuses on winning this war. He won't stop unless he is stopped, and the more time he gets, the stronger he will become - said Zelensky. In his opinion, Russia should be deprived of resources used to finance purchases and production of ammunition and drones, and its military bases should be destroyed.

As he stated, "everyone knows that for Putin, people and rules don't matter, he only understands the language of power and money". - Only if he loses both can peace be restored - he emphasized.

The Ukrainian President also released a video on platform X titled "1,000 days together, 1,000 days of Ukraine".
