Zelensky stands firm: No peace deals without Ukraine's input
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, commented on his conversation with Donald Trump. As quoted by SkyNews, he stated that he does not consider Trump's earlier conversation with Putin as an indication of priorities. He also announced that he will not accept any agreements aimed at ending the war in Ukraine without Kyiv's involvement.
Donald Trump had a phone conversation with Vladimir Putin on Wednesday. He later stated on the social media platform Truth Social that he "had a lengthy and highly productive phone call with President Vladimir Putin of Russia," discussing topics including Ukraine, the Middle East, and "various other subjects."
Trump also assured that he would call Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to inform him about the results of his conversation with Putin.
As Zelensky later conveyed: "I just spoke with Donald Trump. We had a long conversation. On the possibility of achieving peace, about our willingness to work together at the team level. About our technological capabilities, in particular drones and other modern production. I am grateful to President Trump for his interest in what we can do together."
In turn, Trump wrote: "I just spoke to President Volodymyr Zelensky. The conversation went very well. He, like President Putin, wants to make peace."
