Zelensky calls for europe to rise as global leader at Davos
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking at the 55th World Economic Forum in Davos, emphasized that Europe cannot afford to remain in the shadow of its allies. "Europe must fight for its place as a strong, global leader," Zelensky declared.
During his speech, Zelensky drew attention to the differences in military potential between Russia and European countries.
- Russia can field 1.5 million soldiers. Our armed forces number over 800,000 people. France is in second place with over 200,000. Then Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom follow. Everyone else has fewer, - he explained. This is not a situation where one country can defend itself alone. We all must unite and make a change, the President of Ukraine appealed.
Relations with the USA. Trump inaugurated as president
Zelensky also referred to relations with the new President of the USA, Donald Trump.
- In times of war, everyone worries about whether the United States will stand by them. Every ally is concerned about that. But does anyone in the United States worry that Europe might one day leave them and cease to be their ally? The answer is: no. Washington does not believe that Europe can bring them something really important," Zelensky emphasized.
The Ukrainian president's speech at the forum in Davos was a clear call for the unification of Europe and the strengthening of its position on the international stage. Zelensky stressed that only joint actions can bring about real changes in the face of global challenges.
