"Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will meet in Downing Street on Saturday afternoon," announced a spokeswoman for the British Prime Minister's office. The meeting will occur the day before a summit involving several European leaders concerning Ukraine.

Zelensky's visit to London follows unsuccessful talks with US President Donald Trump in Washington. In London, a meeting with European leaders and the President of Ukraine will also be held.

The high stakes of the London meeting

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has invited several European leaders to the meeting. The talks will also involve NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and European Council President Antonio Costa. The BBC emphasizes that, given the failed negotiations in Washington, the stakes of the London meeting are "colossal."

The gathering at Downing Street aims to discuss further actions regarding the situation in Ukraine. Zelensky's visit to London is a key component of international efforts to support Ukraine amid the ongoing conflict.
