Zelenski wants to go to Israel. Kiev has sent a request
The Office of the President of Ukraine has appealed to the authorities of Israel for permission for an official visit to this country by Volodymyr Zelensky. Since Saturday, there have been fights between Hamas fighters and Israeli armed forces.

The plans of Zelensky are reported by the "Ukrainian Truth" portal, citing anonymous sources from the entourage of the President of Ukraine, as well as authorities in Tel Aviv.
According to reports, negotiations between the two countries are still ongoing and "are preliminary." A possible date for Zelensky's visit is not yet known.
Ukrainian media emphasize that the President of Ukraine's trip would be an opportunity to show solidarity with Israel, which - like Ukraine - is defending its territory from armed aggression from outside.

Earlier, before visiting Israel, Zelensky called on leaders of allied countries in Brussels. During the meeting of the Contact Group for the Defense of Ukraine, he said that these trips would have as important and symbolic a significance for Israel as for Ukraine had the visits of Western leaders in Kiev in the first months of the war with Russia.
- Therefore, I call on all leaders to visit Israel and show their support to the nation. I'm not talking about institutional support, but support for the people who have suffered as a result of terrorist attacks - said Zelenskiy.
After Saturday's attacks by Hamas, Israel has so far been visited by two high-ranking Western officials. These were the foreign ministers of the United Kingdom and the Czech Republic. Later this week, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will arrive in Tel Aviv.
