During the interview, Zelensky invited the former US President and Republican Party's frontrunner for the presidential nomination to visit Kyiv. However, his invitation was on condition that Trump fulfils his promise of "stopping the war within 24 hours".

"Donald Trump, I invite you to Ukraine, to Kyiv. If you succeed in stopping the war within 24 hours, I think it will justify your visit," he said.

Zelensky also described Trump's rhetoric as "very dangerous" and voiced apprehensions over Trump's proposal to end the conflict, which could force Ukraine to make significant concessions to Russia.

"He intends to take decisions independently, with no discussion, not even about Russia, and without our involvement. If said publicly, it becomes somewhat scary. I have witnessed numerous victims, and it really agitates me somewhat. Because even if his idea, which no one has heard yet, does not work to the benefit of our country, our people, he may still try to implement his idea," noted Zelensky.

Trump frequently asserted his ability to negotiate an end to the war, which has raged for nearly two years. He claims that he has good relations with both Russian and Ukrainian leaders.

Despite this, Zelensky dismissed worries that Trump's potential re-election could weaken American support for Ukraine. "One man cannot change the entire nation," he stated.

On the other hand, the Ukrainian president emphasized that the relationship with Great Britain will remain very strong even if there is a government change following this year's House of Commons election, which is highly likely according to polls.

"Great Britain has been with us from the beginning till now, and I have had and maintain good relations with all your Prime Ministers. Therefore, people can change, but institutionally, historically, we must preserve the relations between countries," Zelensky stated.
