Zac Efron hospitalized in Spain after swimming scare in Ibiza pool
Zac Efron has been in Europe for several days, partying a lot. On Friday, the American star landed in a Spanish hospital after a "minor swimming incident."
On Saturday evening, troubling reports about Zac Efron circulated in the media. According to TMZ, the star was found in the pool at a villa in Ibiza by two men who pulled him out of the water. It has not yet been determined whether the actor was at risk of drowning.
Efron's representatives emphasized in an official statement that he was taken to the hospital purely as a "precautionary measure." According to foreign media, the celebrity left the hospital on Saturday morning and is recovering.
Efron has been traveling extensively around Europe recently. On July 26, he was seen in Paris during the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympics. He also visited the Greek islands of Mykonos and St. Tropez, partying on a yacht with a group of women and Gerard Butler.
In recent years, Zac has been talked about a lot regarding his changed appearance, which - according to online speculations - is most likely the work of a scalpel. In a 2022 interview with "Men's Health Magazine," the actor shut down all speculations, insisting that his "new face" resulted from an unfortunate accident.
He admitted that while at home, he slipped on a sock and hit the corner of a granite fountain with full force, then lost consciousness. The star also vividly described that "the bone of his chin was hanging off his face," and the square appearance of his jaw is due to "overcompensation by the masseter muscles."
