The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) reported the arrest of four teenagers in Yekaterinburg who were allegedly planning a bomb attack. This information was relayed by the Reuters agency, citing sources within the FSB.
The FSB claims it seized components intended to be used in constructing an explosive device. The detainees are minors, born in 2007 and 2008.
According to the FSB, the teenagers "shared the views of a terrorist organization banned in Russia" and planned to detonate the device in a crowded area in Yekaterinburg.
Connections to a police car arson
Additionally, two of the detainees were allegedly involved in the arson of a police car that took place on December 22, 2024, as reported by the opposition portal Meduza, which noted that authorities have released video footage of the detainees.
One of the teenagers admitted that in August 2023 he "became a supporter of right-wing views, subscribed to neo-Nazi channels on Telegram, and then learned from this source that actions against the police should be taken."
The Meduza portal highlighted that it is unclear under what circumstances the recording was made.
