The X9, the premier model of Xpeng, recently debuted at the Guangzhou Auto Show. This exceptional seven-seater electric minivan seems futuristically otherworldly, both externally and internally. Sophisticated technical solutions complement its audacious design.
The 17 body elements intended to minimize air resistance show proof of this ingenuity. These minor inserts, spoilers, flaps, and inlets contribute to a remarkably low drag coefficient of just 0.227. That's quite impressive for a minivan!
This intriguing exterior conceals a minimalist yet opulent interior. The dashboard essentially consists of two screens. A third, sprawling 21-inch screen can be found in the back, which extends from the roof, transforming journeys into delightful experiences. Complemented by the captain's seats in the second row, passengers can enjoy a luxury cinema-like experience.
The interior features a refrigerator, various compartments, and a special air conditioning system with smart air vents that Xpeng claims are the quietest in the industry. Everything contributes to ensuring a peaceful and undisturbed ride. The vehicle's comfort is further enhanced by a pneumatic suspension system that includes a rear axle steering system.
The engines are exclusively electric. The base model, with a single engine, offers the user up to 320 HP. The more robust, dual-engine version, on the other hand, delivers a whopping 503 HP.
The car is scheduled to be released on the Chinese market in January 2024. The starting price is set at 388,000 yuan, an approximate equivalent of $34,000.
