John Tinniswood was born in Merseyside, northern England, on August 26, 1912, the same year the Titanic sank.
Experts: There is no single recipe for longevity
When asked about his diet, he admitted that he eats fish and chips every Friday but does not follow any specific diet.
It is often believed that a specific habit or lifestyle determines longevity. For example, Maria Branyas Morera, until recently the oldest person in the world, maintained that she owed her long life to a positive attitude and avoiding toxic people.
According to experts, there is no single recipe for longevity. In an interview with the Daily Mail, Prof. Richard Faragher, an expert in the science of aging from the University of Brighton, points to two possible reasons: an exceptional set of genes and a positive attitude toward life.
Professor Faragher also emphasizes the role of healthy eating and regular physical activity. Giving up excessive alcohol consumption and unhealthy food can be an effective way to maintain health and longevity.
John Tinniswood currently lives in a nursing home in Southport. He has been retired for over half a century.
