XCA3000: Pioneering crane engineered for wind turbine construction
Roughly equivalent to the height of the Cosmopolitan and InterContinental skyscrapers in Warsaw, the machine stands at 525 feet tall. It possesses the capability to lift and carry loads up to 209 tons. With a design aimed at wind turbine construction, it can install units with a power output of up to 10 MW.
In Yingkou, the agile XCA3000 crane elevated a 55-ton blade, measuring 312 feet in length, to a height of 351 feet. Thereafter, it was securely fastened and installed in the hub of a wind turbine, completing the procedure rapidly.
Operational efficiency amplified
The manufacturer, XCMG, asserts that their groundbreaking creation - the world's largest mobile crane - at the very least, doubles the operational efficiency. They illustrate this by stating that the 149-ton gondola of a 5 MW wind turbine could feasibly be installed within a mere 30-minute operational timeframe.
"Thanks to the innovative XCA3000 crane, XCMG is propelling the wind energy industry towards further advancements. This invention symbolizes progress in high-performance, flexible boom technology and provides a solution to challenges associated with erecting large wind turbines in restricted spaces," representatives of the company concluded.
