On December 6, Phillip Robinson of Warboys, England, was handed a prison sentence of two years and three months. The man had engaged in continual harassment and stalking of his neighbor for several months. As per Alan Tregilgas of the Cambridgeshire County Police, the 40-year-old confessed to the crimes he was accused of.
Neighbor in constant harassment
Tregilgas, who led the investigation, branded the 40-year-old's actions as disgraceful. He expressed gratitude toward the victim for her bravery in reporting the issue.
"Stalking is a horrific crime, and I want to take this opportunity to commend the victim for her courage and resolve in reporting it to the police," he remarked at the hearing at Peterborough court.
Phillip Robinson was arrested in June 2023. The victim, after discovering the 40-year-old man in her bedroom in the early hours of June 11, contacted the police. The intruder had entered her home through an open window and loomed over her bed.
Thankfully, the woman was not alone. The 40-year-old man was expelled from her home by family members, who then alerted the authorities.
The 40-year-old was incarcerated and slapped with a restraining order. He was also barred from setting foot on her street. Despite these measures, he violated his release conditions shortly afterward and attempted another break-in at the neighbor's house. This attempt was thwarted, landing Robinson back behind bars.
The investigation unveiled startling revelations. For several months, the 40-year-old had meticulously planned the intrusion. He loitered around her yard, maintaining surveillance on her household and making attempts at contact.
Stalking is prolonged harassment of another person. It can encompass numerous methods of contact, such as phone calls, emails, relentless meeting propositions, spying on the victim, taking their photos, and gift-giving.
