Windows snipping tool update: Copy data tables instantly
The Snipping Tool available in Windows will soon have an additional feature. As part of the Insider program for system testers, the tool is currently being tested for its ability to recognize data in tables. This feature is designed to enable users to copy visible data in a way that can be utilized, for example, in Excel.

Details about the upcoming enhancement to the Snipping Tool are provided by the service Neowin. This new option is already available in test versions of Windows 11 on the Dev and Beta channels within the Insider program. The Snipping Tool is now capable of identifying a table within a selected area of the screen and then copying the data contained within it, effectively "extracting" it for further use, such as in Excel.
According to Microsoft's official announcement, the Snipping Tool can currently recognize only one table visible in a selected area. Based on the provided screenshots, the program can accurately recognize the entire structure of the table, including headers and data types.
While testing in the Insider program is underway, there is no confirmed timeline for when this new feature will be available in the stable release of Windows 11. It is anticipated to be released in the coming months. The system has recently been updated through Moment packages, which are released several times a year. However, Microsoft has been focusing on the release of Windows 11 24H2, which also introduced several new features.
