Florida. Nineteenth February 2024. William Byron surges in his white arrow, avoids the car wreck drifting swerved, jumps to the front and wins.
66th edition of the Great American Race
As always, it was a great race with several favourites to win; it came down to the precision in the last ten laps. There was a huge crash on the 191th lap. Byron nodged Logano in the rear bumper, and he went across the track, causing a huge crash.
It was not the last crash of the race. On the last one, Chastain and Cindric touched each other and started to fly forward. Byron was driving on the first position and managed to make slight but extremely important movements towards the right, using his mirror vision, to avoid floating Chastain, who then slid to the left and onto the grass.
We quote the FOX news sports about the car crash on the last lap:
The finish list of the racers presents itself as follows: the winner - is W. Byron; the runner-up , third position is A. Bowman, C. Bell, C. LaJoie, B. Wallace. The distance between the runner-up and the winner was minimal, but huge enough to make the crucial difference. Byron by the slight margin of 0.006 of the second. C. Bell was further in the distance and was left for almost 1.5 seconds. As usual, Nascar's slight margins are making points about the nature of the reality we live in.
