Could it possibly end more intenesly? William Byron has managed to win his first Daytona 500 race 0.006 seconds in front and avoiding the car wreck on the final straight. How good is this?

Florida. Nineteenth February 2024. William Byron surges in his white arrow, avoids the car wreck drifting swerved, jumps to the front and wins.

66th edition of the Great American Race

As always, it was a great race with several favourites to win; it came down to the precision in the last ten laps. There was a huge crash on the 191th lap. Byron nodged Logano in the rear bumper, and he went across the track, causing a huge crash.

It was not the last crash of the race. On the last one, Chastain and Cindric touched each other and started to fly forward. Byron was driving on the first position and managed to make slight but extremely important movements towards the right, using his mirror vision, to avoid floating Chastain, who then slid to the left and onto the grass.

We quote the FOX news sports about the car crash on the last lap:

Blaney said he was OK after the wreck as a replay showed he may have hurt his wrist when grabbing his steering wheel.

Bowman made it through the pile-up unscathed and moved into second place behind Chastain. Byron, somehow, avoided the wreckage after he spun out Keselowski.

Additionally, Kyle Larson, Noah Gragson, Denny Hamlin, Chase Briscoe, Chris Buescher, Martin Truex Jr., Todd Gilliland, Ryan Preece, Erik Jones, Tyler Reddick, Ty Gibbs, Anthony Alfredo, Daniel Suarez and last year’s Daytona 500 winner Rickey Stenhouse Jr. were among those involved in the wreck.

The finish list of the racers presents itself as follows: the winner - is W. Byron; the runner-up , third position is A. Bowman, C. Bell, C. LaJoie, B. Wallace. The distance between the runner-up and the winner was minimal, but huge enough to make the crucial difference. Byron by the slight margin of 0.006 of the second. C. Bell was further in the distance and was left for almost 1.5 seconds. As usual, Nascar's slight margins are making points about the nature of the reality we live in.
