Why spend a fortune? Darken gray hair at home easily

Gray hair is completely natural and should not be a source of embarrassment. Nevertheless, many women decide to dye their hair. It is worth knowing that there is a cheaper alternative to costly salon visits. You can darken your hair by checking out a drugstore or simply using ingredients from your kitchen.

Premature graying can be due to genetics, stress, or an unhealthy lifestyle. However, all hair begins to turn gray sooner or later, as it is a natural part of aging.

Although more people are embracing their gray hair and Hollywood stars promote the trend of wearing silver strands, many women still regularly dye their hair. Spending a fortune at a salon is unnecessary because there are effective home methods for darkening hair.

How to darken gray roots?

Dyeing hair at home can be risky for the inexperienced. Those new to the process can go to a drugstore and buy dedicated products like sprays, powders, or touch-up markers designed to conceal gray roots. Choose the right color and address the problem in just a few seconds.

However, it's important to remember that this method does not provide long-lasting results. Actual darkening of gray roots can be achieved with home methods known to our grandmothers, especially for those with dark brown hair.

Walnut shell rinse for gray hair

Not many people realize that gray hair can be darkened using walnut shells. Instead of throwing the shells away, put them in a pot and boil for about half an hour until the water turns dark brown.

Once the water has cooled, you have a ready rinse that should be applied regularly to hair immediately after washing. Results may be visible after a week or two. Additionally, this walnut shell decoction nourishes and strengthens the hair.

An even more popular method of darkening gray hair is to infuse coffee or black tea with cool water in a 1:1 ratio. Strain the grounds before rinsing the hair with the mixture.
