Who will win in the USA? Latest presidential poll results
In the race for the White House, Donald Trump is currently leading Joe Biden by a score of 47 to 43 percentage points, according to a public opinion poll conducted by The Wall Street Journal. Both candidates carry issues that tarnish their image.
The poll took place from November 29 to December 4, with a margin of error of 2.5 percentage points.
Trump supporters argue that he is more proficient at managing the economy and exhibits stronger performances in combatting inflation and crime. He is also perceived to handle border security and the Israel-Hamas conflict more effectively. On the other hand, Biden outperforms his competitor on matters related to abortion and the tone he maintains in politics.
"The most pressing issue for voters at the moment appears to be border security, where Trump holds a 30-percent advantage over a wavering Biden," USA Today reports.
"If one were to judge based on policy and governance in this race, Trump would claim a significant advantage. However, in terms of temperament and character, respondents favor Biden," points out Republican pollster Tony Fabrizio, who is part of Trump's super PAC (Political Action Committee).
"Concern surrounding Biden's age is increasing amongst Americans, especially due to reports of him occasionally stumbling, confusing countries and dates, and making other minor errors. While Trump also sometimes slurs or has mobility issues, these do not attract as much attention," confirms USA Today."
The newspaper references a previous statement by David Paleologos, director of political research at Suffolk University, who draws attention to Trump's legal difficulties, particularly four criminal charges against him.
