There's no need to convince anyone about their benefits. Unfortunately, despite the many positives of consuming them, it is necessary to mention the contraindications. Not everyone should include bananas in their diet.
Who should not eat bananas?
Bananas are recommended as a dietary ingredient due to their numerous properties, taste, and texture. Nevertheless, not everyone should include bananas in their menu. These include people with fructose intolerance. Bananas are a significant source of this fruit sugar, so people suffering from its intolerance may experience stomach discomfort after consuming bananas. Of course, people who are allergic to these fruits should also avoid bananas.
Bananas are not recommended for diabetics. These fruits contain a lot of simple sugars and have a high glycemic index. Ripe bananas have a higher glycemic index, while slightly green, yellow bananas, under certain conditions, may be allowed in a diabetic's diet (of course, it all depends on the individual's health, so it's best to consult a doctor). However, it is essential to note that no fruit should be on a diabetic's menu as a standalone meal. Additionally, people with kidney diseases should avoid bananas. In the case of this ailment, it's necessary to limit the consumption of potassium-rich products.
It is also advised against eating bananas on an empty stomach. This fruit can be part of breakfast, but if consumed alone, it can cause hunger pangs during the day. While these fruits provide a quick feeling of satiety, this effect doesn't last long. When energy levels plummet rapidly, fatigue and hunger can appear. Therefore, if you want to eat bananas for breakfast, combine them with protein and fats.

There are many myths surrounding the tip of bananas. According to them, this part of the fruit contains Giardia lamblia parasites, spiders or their eggs, various bacteria, toxins, and even pesticides. All of this sounds alarming and certainly doesn't encourage the consumption of bananas.
The tip of the banana is the oldest part of the fruit, where the fruit grows from the spot where the flower used to be. There are no parasites, bacteria, or spiders in these flowers. Although a specific type of spider, known as Heteropoda venatoria, does live on banana plantations, it does not lay eggs in banana flowers.
While bananas can be a source of infection with Giardia, salmonella, or other dangerous pathogens, contrary to popular belief, they are not found at the tip of the banana but on its skin. Therefore, there is no need to cut off the banana's tip, as this part of the fruit is neither unhealthy nor toxic. You can enjoy the entire inside of the banana with one condition – to ensure the fruit does not pose a health risk, thoroughly wash the banana's skin before consumption.
