White House fallout: Zelensky apology demand delays deal
The potential signing of an agreement regarding American involvement in the extraction of Ukrainian minerals hinges on Volodymyr Zelensky's stance, according to sources in the White House cited by Fox News.
Fox News reports that a senior representative of the American administration noted that there will be no agreement on mineral extraction until Volodymyr Zelensky publicly apologizes on camera for his behaviour in the Oval Office.
Turmoil in the White House
The agreement was expected to be finalized on Friday, February 28, in Washington. To this end, Volodymyr Zelensky himself traveled to the American capital, where he was supposed to sign the document at the White House following a meeting with Donald Trump.
Ultimately, the signing did not take place, and the meeting between the leaders ended in significant turmoil. Zelensky was asked to leave the White House and departed without addressing the media.
