Holiday waffles with nuts and plum jam
Ingredients:
- 1 cup plus a bit more whole milk,
- 10.6 ounces of ground walnuts,
- 3/4 cup of sugar,
- 7.05 oz of butter,
- 8.8 oz plum jam,
- A package of mini ladyfingers,
- 4 waffle sheets.
- Transfer the jam into a pan and cook it down. Let it cool. Meanwhile, heat the sugar and milk in another pot. Remove from the heat, add the ground nuts and let this mixture sit so the flavors can meld.
- Cream the butter (it should be soft) and gradually mix it into the cooled nut mixture.
- Spread a layer of jam onto a waffle sheet, then top it with another waffle sheet. Apply half of the nut mixture onto this layer, then arrange the ladyfingers on top.
- Spread the remaining nut mixture over the biscuits, then place the third waffle sheet on top. Apply a layer of jam and then the final waffle sheet. Refrigerate the assembled dish. Slice into smaller pieces prior to serving. Delicious!
