Hot Dogs Wrapped in Puff Pastry
Ingredients:
- 2 puff pastries
- 7 oz tomato puree
- 2 tablespoons of oregano
- 1 teaspoon of dried garlic
- 1/3 teaspoon of hot pepper
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1/3 teaspoon of pepper
- 5 hot dogs
- 20 slices of yellow cheese
- 1 egg, beaten
Preparation:
Begin with the tomato sauce. In a bowl, combine the tomato puree, oregano, dried garlic, hot pepper, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
Slice the hot dogs into thick pieces. Lay a sheet of puff pastry on your work surface and spread the tomato sauce over it. If you let the dough warm up to room temperature for about 15-20 minutes beforehand, it will be more flexible and easier to work with.
Arrange slices of yellow cheese and hot dog pieces on the sauce-coated pastry, aiming for even rows. This will make it easier to cut into portions later.
Top with another puff pastry sheet and press down to seal. Use a pizza cutter to slice into individual pieces. Brush the top with beaten egg and bake in an oven preheated to 392 degrees Fahrenheit for about 20 minutes.
Your delicious and easy-to-make snacks are now ready to enjoy. They can be served as they are or with your favorite dipping sauce, like garlic sauce.
Bon appétit!
