When my mother-in-law arrived unexpectedly at my apartment, I wanted to serve her something delightful to drink. Unfortunately, I was out of coffee, but a delicious, ripe mango in the fruit basket caught my eye. A tasty cocktail was prepared in no time, which impressed her greatly. She has been asking for the recipe ever since and now enjoys recreating that taste at her own home. This Indian delicacy quickly became a favourite in my family.

Mango lassi - how to make this delicious cocktail

Mango lassi is a delightful and refreshing drink made from yoghurt, mango, and spices. Its origins are traced back to India. It's the perfect way to utilize ripe mangoes and boasts several health benefits.

Yoghurt, with its probiotics, supports healthy bowel function and aids in digestion. Mango is a good source of potassium, which helps regulate blood pressure and improve circulation. Both yoghurt and mango are low in calories yet high in fibre, aiding in satiety and weight management.

Mango lassi is an excellent choice for a tasty and wholesome dessert. It harmoniously blends the sweetness of mango with creamy yoghurt and a spicy aroma. It takes only a few minutes and a quick blend, resulting in a refreshingly delightful treat.

Ingredients:

- 1 ripe mango
- 5.3 oz natural yogurt
- 1.7-3.4 fl oz milk or water (optional, for desired consistency)
- 1 tablespoon of honey or maple syrup (optional)
- A pinch of ground cardamom
- A pinch of cinnamon
- A few mint leaves for decoration

How to prepare:

1. Peel the mango, remove the pit, and cut the flesh into chunks.
2. In a blender, combine the mango pieces, yogurt, cardamom, and cinnamon, blending until smooth.
3. Adjust the sweetness by adding honey or maple syrup as needed. For a thinner consistency, gradually mix in milk or water.

4. Pour the mango lassi into glasses and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

5. Garnish with fresh mint leaves just before serving.
Your delicious cocktail is ready to enjoy!
