A cake doesn't always require the complexity of fruits, meringues, sponge layers, or crumbles. Sometimes, the simplest recipes are the most rewarding. Lucky for you, we’ve stumbled upon the perfect example. A modest, four-ingredient cake that won't break the bank has quickly become our go-to sweet indulgence, and we have a hunch you'll fall for it too.

There's another perk to this cake; no oven required. All you need is a refrigerator and a sprinkle of patience. Yes, the allure of no-bake cakes is strong in our kitchen, and we relish in preparing them from time to time. If you share our enthusiasm, simply grab some pudding and biscuits from the store, and fetch the few remaining ingredients from your fridge. That’s all it takes to whip up this delightful and budget-friendly cake.

An Affordable Cake with Just a Few Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • 17.6 oz of biscuits,
  • 3 vanilla puddings,
  • 1 block of butter (8.8 oz),
  • 4.2 cups of milk,
  • And for a bit of extravagance: 1 bar of chocolate + 3.4 fl oz of cream (optional).

  1. Start by mixing the puddings with a cup of milk. Then heat the rest of the milk in a pot. Add the mixed pudding to the hot milk. Cook and stir until the mixture thickens. Let it cool down afterwards.
  2. Whip the butter until smooth. Gradually incorporate the cooled pudding into it.
  3. Line your form with baking paper. Begin with a layer of biscuits, followed by a generous layer of the pudding mixture. Continue these steps until all ingredients are used.
  4. Place the cake in the refrigerator. Once it's set, it's ready to be enjoyed. If you desire a chocolate topping, melt the chocolate over a water bath and combine with the cream. Pour the cool topping over the cake and return it to the refrigerator to set.
  5. For a simpler decoration, consider dusting with cocoa powder. Dig in and savor!
