WhatsApp to elevate user experience with anticipated sound sharing feature for mobiles
WhatsApp is working on another update, this one concerning sound transmission. As reported by WABetaInfo, the developers are developing the facility of live sound sharing from one user's phone to another. In theory, this will allow WhatsApp users to listen to music or watch movies together, which is the primary goal of this feature. Some testers already have access to it.

According to WABetaInfo, an early version of this sound-sharing feature is available in WhatsApp Beta 2.23.26.18 for Android, but only a select group of testers can access it. It's also been reported that similar work is underway for WhatsApp's iOS version, something that isn't always guaranteed. Therefore, it's reasonable to expect that when this new feature rolls out, it will be available on both platforms simultaneously.
Currently, there is no specified timeline for when this new feature will be available to all users. However, it's safe to estimate that it will not be before 2024. It's also important to note that the development of WhatsApp Web or the desktop application version typically proceeds at a different, slower pace. Thus, it's highly likely that this sound-sharing feature for the messaging app will initially only be available on mobile devices.
