WhatsApp testing musical status feature in the latest update
WhatsApp is working on another new feature for its messenger. According to one of the latest updates for beta testers, users will soon have the option to add music as background to their statuses. This feature is expected to make WhatsApp updates more appealing.
WhatsApp is continually enhancing its messenger by introducing new experimental features. One of the latest updates in the beta version available for Android is no exception. As highlighted by WABetaInfo, the option to add musical tracks as background to statuses has entered public testing. This addition can enhance attractiveness and make statuses somewhat similar to stories on Instagram or Facebook.
A WhatsApp user who wishes to add a musical background to their status can use the "extensive library of tracks" Meta offers. While specific details about the library's size aren't provided, the screenshot shows that widely known songs by popular artists can be used (the screenshot features a song by ABBA) rather than mere instrumental, original music tracks intended solely to accompany graphic content.
The new option to add music to statuses has been spotted in the Android version 2.25.2.5 beta. As is usually the case with WhatsApp's tests, this feature is only visible to some users and not everyone who downloads the beta version.
However, since the tests are now public, it suggests that the feature is close to being implemented for everyone in the stable release of the messenger. The WhatsApp team typically begins testing new features mentioned by WABetaInfo with non-public tests, which is common for the initial developmental phase of a given option.
