As per Reuters, the production halt could linger for up to three weeks, affecting four distinct models of Volkswagen and Audi manufactured in Zwickau.

The main cause of the standstill is a deficit in crucial parts, particularly pertaining to electric engines produced at a separate Volkswagen plant in Germany.

"Production of electric drives at Volkswagen Group's component plant in Kassel is presently limited," asserts a company spokesperson as quoted by Reuters.

The three-week halt in Zwickau impacts such models as the Audi Q4 E-tron, Audi Q4 Sportback E-tron, VW ID.4, and VW ID.5. However, smaller vehicles like the ID.3 and Cupra Born are anticipated to exit the factory without any disruption.

Volkswagen has remained silent on the reasons behind the production halt at the engine plant in Kassel. Nonetheless, there are expectations that the issue will be resolved promptly.
