Ramzan Kadyrov, the leader of Chechnya, bestowed the Order of Courage upon his nephew, 27-year-old Khamzat Kadyrov, as announced by Adam Delimkhanov, a State Duma deputy from Chechnya, through his Telegram channel.
The decree for the award was authorized by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The specific reasons behind the award remain undisclosed. However, Delimkhanov highlighted in his post that Khamzat Kadyrov "has played an active role in supporting Chechen fighters from the outset of the so-called 'special military operation'".
What is known about Kadyrov's nephew? He currently holds the position of Deputy Prime Minister of Chechnya, as well as being the Minister of Property and Land Relations of the region and an assistant to his uncle in the security sector.
In 2023, Khamzat Kadyrov also received the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, 2nd class, and was named a Hero of Chechnya.

An important point to note is that President Vladimir Putin has also honored Aimani Kadyrov, the mother of Chechnya’s leader, Ramzan Kadyrov, with the Order of Honor.
At 69, Aimani Kadyrov is a recipient of numerous awards and titles, including the Order of Friendship, awarded "for her contribution to fostering peace and friendship among the peoples of the North Caucasus".
Ramzan Kadyrov's prominence and power are largely attributable to the Russian leader. His pivotal role in Chechnya connects and binds him not only to the Russian Federation’s government but also underscores his reliance on Russia.
With financial backing from the Kremlin, he has established his dominion in Chechnya, while the Russian military has provided equipment and training for his forces.
