In Russia, final preparations are underway for the annual Victory Day celebrations, which are held on May 9. As Vladimir Putin's army maintains the upper hand on the front lines, they now face challenging days since the command has decided to confiscate their tanks. One of the soldiers expressed strong criticism of the authorities.

For several weeks, preparations have been made for military parades, which will take place across numerous Russian cities on Victory Day. On this day, Russians will witness military hardware parading through the streets.

This decision has led to significant tensions, as highlighted by a Russian soldier currently engaged in intense battles at the front.

"Our battalion is stationed in Slovianskserbsk in the LPR (Lugansk People's Republic). For those unaware, this location is only a short distance from Chasiv Yar, where some of the most fierce battles occur," the Russian soldier emphasized.

Vladimir Putin's army, currently taking the initiative on the front, is now facing difficult times, as the command has decided to remove their tanks for the upcoming Victory Day.

"We were ordered by our command to send our heavy equipment to the victory celebrations, to the parade. Meanwhile, we are sacrificing our well-being, and our comrades are dying here in the fields. It's outrageous; they've taken our equipment to celebrate Victory Day. None of these decision-makers have ever set foot on the front," voiced the frustrated soldier.

Russia continues its efforts to dismantle Ukraine, relentlessly pursuing this strategic goal. According to expert Oleksiy Melnyk, the current tactical objective is to capture Chasiv Yar. This is deemed another crucial step in asserting control over Donbas, which the aggressor aims to detach from Ukraine.

"The primary objective for the Russians is to conquer the entire Donetsk region. Almost the whole Luhansk region has been captured; Donetsk presents different challenges. Achieving this could be their aim in the following months," Melnyk assessed.

Before the Victory Parade, Moscow bolsters its defenses

In preparation not only for the parade but also for enhancing the safety of the Russian capital, Moscow is ramping up its defenses. Anton Herashchenko, an advisor to the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs, reported that Russia intends to deploy additional air defense measures over Moscow on May 9, including drone jamming technologies.

The police have been tasked with inspecting all residential buildings near the event locations prior to the ceremony.
