Victoria Paris, an American influencer who rose to fame through TikTok, shares lifestyle content that spans fashion, fitness, travel, and interior decorating. She has garnered a following of nearly 500,000 people on Instagram and up to 1.9 million followers on TikTok.

In late April, Victoria shared a video on her profile that diverged sharply from her usual content, drawing backlash from her audience. The footage showcased her intentionally ruining a luxury Gucci handbag for what she deemed a "serious" reason.

The $4,000 bag destruction

The video was quickly removed from the influencer's profile after she recognized her viewers' dismay over the fate of the Gucci bag, a luxury item beyond the reach of many. Nonetheless, the video remains accessible on the Floor channel, where it was briefly commented upon with: "capitalism."

Victoria was seen unboxing a brand-new Gucci bag valued at nearly 4,000 euros (about $4,529). The model in question, the Jackie 1961 large shoulder bag, is not readily available. Shortly after revealing the bag, she forcefully slammed it against the stairs in her garden, aiming for a distressed look.

This act infuriated Victoria’s viewers, leading to an outpouring of incredulous and disapproving comments such as "Why?". "For what purpose?". "I don’t understand.” Many highlighted the disregard for the value of money demonstrated by her actions.

"And yet most of us are deciding between buying gas or food this week lol," remarked one user, reflecting broader frustrations over financial priorities.

However, some defended Victoria's choice. "It's her money, so she can do whatever she wants with it," argued supportive fans.
