The TikToker who runs the profile under the name @victorias.way, caused a storm on the internet with one of her videos. The woman showed a complicated trick that she uses during her trips. The security system ensures that no one will enter her room. However, netizens believe that her precautions are exaggerated.
Victoria shows at the beginning of the video that it's worth hanging a "do not disturb" sign on hotel doors, and to always lock the doors. Such solutions seem completely sensible and in line with generally accepted safety rules during travel. However, the new video has caused some of Victoria's observers to have some concerns.
Towel, hanger, and ironing board
However, users were surprised by what the TikToker did next. Victoria covered the peephole with a piece of toilet paper to prevent a potential thief from peeping into the bedroom, which already seems quite extreme. In the next steps, the woman suggests inserting a hand towel between the door lock and the door.
However, that's not the end. Victoria advises travelers to roll up a medium-sized towel and put it behind the doorknob to block it. The Tiktok user also suggests that if there is an ironing board in the room, it can be used to obstruct the door. The last step is to place a hanger with "clips" so that it secures both towels for additional protection. The final effect was to block the door with a very complicated network, which not all internet users were sure of.
Not everyone praised Victoria's idea
Many internet users have stated that the precautions taken by the woman are very helpful, and they will certainly test her trick. Others had a different opinion.
"Imagine trying to leave your room at night because there is a fire," "After all, this is a hotel, not a bunker," "I'm sure I would never stay at a hotel where such security measures would be necessary" - we read in the comments section.
