Vanessa Paradis was born on December 22, 1972. She made her stage debut at just 7 years old. Her song "Joe le taxi" not only caused a sensation on the charts but also sparked considerable controversy. It brought the then 14-year-old fame and recognition. Unfortunately, with popularity, she also faced enormous criticism.

Scandal followed by scandal

"Joe le taxi" is a song about the life of a woman working as a taxi driver who drives people partying in LGBT clubs at night. Considering that Vanessa Paradis, who sang it, was still a child, a real scandal erupted in the country. Nevertheless, the song gained a huge fan base worldwide.

The young artist was labeled a "Lolita" by journalists, as her image was decidedly different from that of her peers. Vanessa Paradis often wore short skirts and bold, striking makeup that drew attention.

There were instances when women, upon encountering her on the street, spat at her feet, and parents of students at her school wrote a petition to remove her from the institution.

Focused on her career

Vanessa Paradis stopped attending school to fully focus on her career. She not only pursued music but also ventured into modeling, becoming the face of the fashion house Chanel. Interesting film offers quickly followed.

In 1998, she met Johnny Depp, with whom she had two children. Although they seemed to form a happy family, in 2012, the couple announced their separation. Rumors hinted that the actor had cheated on her with Amber Heard.

Paradis wasn't alone for long. In 2018, she married director Samuel Benchetrit, whom she remains with today. The star fiercely protects her privacy. She rarely appears at industry events and doesn't post family snapshots online. From time to time, she shares new projects she is involved in.
