Vance blasts UK immigration policies at American summit

U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, in a fiery speech delivered on March 18 in Washington, accused Western countries of being "lazy" and criticized the United Kingdom. He claimed the country is stagnating due to high levels of immigration.

J.D. Vance was among the speakers at the American Dynamism Summit in Washington. He used this platform to once again criticize the United Kingdom, stating that the increase in immigration is a factor hindering the country's development.

According to the "Daily Mail," Vance, in his fiery speech delivered on Tuesday, accused Western countries of being "lazy" and argued that they are becoming reliant on "cheap labor" instead of focusing on enhancing productivity.

Addressing tech companies, executives, and government officials in Washington, Vance stated: "I'd say that if you look in nearly every country, from Canada to the UK, that imported large amounts of cheap labour, you've seen productivity stagnate." He emphasized that, in his view, "that's not a total happenstance" and "that the connection is very direct."

Vance assessed that the United States is also becoming dependent on "cheap labor" due to "40 years of failed economic policy."

U.S. Vice President upsets the British

Vance has previously spoken critically about the United Kingdom. Recently, he caused outrage when, in a conversation with Fox News, he described the United Kingdom as "some random country who hasn't fought a war in 30 or 40 years." These comments were made in the context of discussions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about a minerals agreement. His statement elicited a strong reaction from the British.

In the past, British politicians criticized Vance's words, who—while still a candidate for U.S. Vice President—claimed that under the Labor Party, the United Kingdom would become "the first Islamist country with nuclear weapons."
