USA's show of force has a "chilling effect"

The United States showcased its military prowess in the Mediterranean Sea. A recording has emerged on the internet, revealing two carrier battle groups belonging to USS Eisenhower and USS Ford. An expert in Middle East affairs concluded that this was meant to, and indeed, has a chilling effect.

An online video has surfaced showing US military units appearing in the eastern Mediterranean Sea on Friday.

The leader of Hezbollah made his first address since Hamas initiated attacks on Israel on Friday.

"Observers expected Hasan Nasrallah to declare whether he had come to a decision about the full engagement of the Iran-backed Hezbollah in the ongoing conflict. This could potentially broaden the conflict to neighboring countries", highlighted the Reuters agency. However, such a declaration about the organization's active participation in the war was not forthcoming.

A Pentagon spokesperson commented on the situation. Speaking with the BBC, he expressed doubts that Hezbollah is seeking to fully engage in the conflict. Gen. Patrick Ryder emphasized, "the broader regional conflict has been contained".

"Currently, we perceive it mainly as a limited conflict between Israel and Hamas", he added.
