"Strong measures against the Russian side — I understand that we can count on them. I don’t know the details yet, but we are talking about sanctions and strengthening Ukraine," said Zelensky in response to reporters' questions in Kyiv.

The President of Ukraine also advised waiting for Russia's official response to the proposals to end the war. "What are the chances? We’ll see," he added, as quoted by the Interfax-Ukraine agency.

Ukraine accepted the US proposal

Ukraine agreed to the US proposal for an immediate 30-day ceasefire in the air, at sea, and along the entire front line. As President Volodymyr Zelensky reported after the talks, Ukraine presented three key demands: a suspension of missile strikes, bombings, and the use of long-range drones; a halt to military activities in the Black Sea; and concrete confidence-building steps, including the release of Ukrainian prisoners and the return of children taken to Russia.

The US declared it would restore aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine, which had previously been severed due to tensions between Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump.
