Yemen's Houthis will continue launching more missile and drone attacks at shipping lanes in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden during the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan as part of efforts to pressure Israel to put an end to the bombardment of the Gaza Strip, according to a speech by top Houthi leader, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi. The US-led coalition continues to strike Houthi targets in Yemen as it seeks to degrade the Houthis' abilities to attack commercial shipping vessels amid high tensions in the Middle East. According to the United States Central Command, the United States carried out six defensive airstrikes and launched 18 anti-ship missiles in Yemen in response to the Houthis firing two anti-ship ballistic missiles into the Red Sea.

US Central Command (Centcom) reported that it neutralized an unmanned underwater vehicle and 18 anti-ship missiles owned by the Houthis. However, on Tuesday, there were reports of an Italian warship downing drones over the Red Sea.

"The missiles did not impact the vessel and there were no injuries or damage reported," said CENTCOM.

According to Reuters, Yemen’s internationally recognized government, which has been fighting a civil war against the Houthis, said that US airstrikes hit port cities and small towns in western Yemen, killing at least 11 and injuring 14.

According to an analysis by the Associated Press of its statements, the U.S. military reports that since initiating its airstrike campaign in January, it has intercepted and eliminated over 100 missiles launched by Houthi rebels. Despite these efforts, the barrage of attacks from the Houthi rebels continues unabated.
