On Wednesday morning, the American embassy in Kyiv issued a statement warning of a massive Russian attack. "The US Embassy in Kyiv has received specific information of a potential significant air attack on November 20," the statement reads.

The American embassy in Kyiv will be closed on November 20 "out of an abundance of caution." "The US Embassy recommends US citizens be prepared to immediately shelter in the event an air alert is announced," it stated.

Did Ukraine strike with US missiles? Initial reports

According to the Reuters agency, this warning came a day after there were reports of Kyiv using American ATACMS missiles to attack a Russian ammunition depot in the Bryansk region, about 81 miles from the border with Ukraine. US authorities have not officially confirmed these reports.

The Kremlin has long threatened that if the West allows Ukraine to use missiles provided by the USA, the UK, and France to strike deep into Russia, it will regard these NATO member states as direct participants in the war.
