US boosts Ukraine with $61B aid, sparks Russian outcry and warnings

"The decision to provide aid to Ukraine was expected and predictable. This will further enrich the United States and further ruin Ukraine, with more Ukrainians killed due to the fault of the Kyiv regime," Vladimir Putin’s spokesperson comments on the USA's decision to provide aid to Ukraine.

It's important to note that many reports from Russian media or government officials can be propaganda. Such narratives are part of the information warfare waged by the Russian Federation.

On Saturday, the US House of Representatives approved a nearly $61 billion aid package for Ukraine. This vote broke a long-standing deadlock in the House and set the stage for renewed support for Ukraine next week. The Senate will next consider the legislation, which is expected to be voted on soon.

Ukrainska Pravda page reports that the decision has sparked hysteria in Russia.

Peskov's warning to the USA

Dmitri Peskov, Vladimir Putin's press secretary, criticized the House of Representatives' approval of aid for Ukraine, claiming it "will further ruin Ukraine, with more Ukrainians killed" and benefit the United States. He also warned that the US would face repercussions for seizing frozen Russian assets, stating the United States "will have to answer for the confiscation of frozen assets of the Russian Federation".

Maria Zakharova, a leading voice in the Kremlin's propaganda machine, argued that the House-approved aid for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan "will exacerbate global crisis phenomena." She labelled military support for the Kyiv government as "direct sponsorship of terrorist activities."
