US President Joe Biden announced on Thursday that Kyiv can expect further financial support from the USA. He promised increased supplies for Ukraine, including nearly $8 billion in military equipment and new long-range ammunition.
This declaration was made before a meeting between the Presidents of the United States and Ukraine at the White House. However, this promise did not include a word about the much-anticipated "green light" for Kyiv to launch American long-range missiles toward Russia.
Zelensky sees victory: The latest US aid is to be decisive
"Today, I am announcing a surge in security assistance for Ukraine and a series of additional actions to help Ukraine win this war," said Biden.
President Zelensky responded with an optimistic statement. He announced that this aid would help his country achieve victory over Russia.
"We will use this assistance in the most effective and transparent way possible to achieve our main common goal: a victorious Ukraine, a just and lasting peace, and transatlantic security," wrote Zelensky in a social media post.
American media reported the plan to increase aid earlier. On September 25, Reuters, citing two American officials, reported that the United States is preparing a military aid package for Ukraine worth over $8 billion.

As conveyed by the agency, $2.4 billion will be provided as part of the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative. The second package will include ammunition, anti-drone weapons, and materials supporting ammunition production in Ukraine.
Reuters also confirmed that this package will include a medium-range glide bomb known as the Joint Standoff Weapon. The missile can be launched from F-16 fighters and has a range of up to 81 miles.
Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to the USA began on September 22. The Ukrainian president spent the past week meeting with world leaders on the sidelines of the 79th UN General Assembly. He addressed this forum on September 25, calling member states to unite around the peace formula for Ukraine.
