This product, often used to add fluffiness to various baked items, is a mix of leavening substances. Contrary to common belief, baking powder is completely safe for health. It primarily comprises of bicarbonate of soda, potato starch, and usually citric acid, an amalgamation that surprisingly aids in cleaning scale, deposits, and streaks. Here's how to employ baking powder for deep cleaning purposes.

Use baking powder to get rid of coating in your bathroom

The bathroom is a sanctuary for many, a place to unwind and relax after a long day. Ideally, it should be clean and pleasing to the senses. However, maintaining its pristine condition is quite challenging due to the repeated use of hard water and detergents. Over time, unsightly streaks and scale begin to form on bathroom fixtures.

The scale forms from the accumulation of calcium and magnesium salts on ceramics and fixtures. Removing this build-up can be effortless with the aid of household staples such as bicarbonate of soda, vinegar, citric acid, or, indeed, baking powder.

Baking powder, a perfect mix of soda and acid, can be used to create a homemade paste for bathroom cleaning. To create a potent cleaning agent, combine two teaspoons of baking powder with a tablespoon of spirit vinegar. Apply this paste on the scaled fixtures using an old toothbrush and let it rest for about half an hour.

After the paste has worked on the grime for 30 minutes, scrub the fixtures with a toothbrush and then rinse them thoroughly. The result should be completely scale-free, gleaming surfaces. This method can be used to clean sinks, faucets, and toilets, restoring them to their original cleanliness.

Do-it-yourself cleaning solution for your shower cabin - removes even the toughest streaks

Shower cabins are often subjected to soap and cosmetic residues, resulting in unsightly, stubborn streaks. Commercial cleaning agents sometimes fail to remove these effectively. However, a simple homemade detergent can easily tackle this job.

For this, prepare a spray bottle filled with 3.4 fl oz of apple cider vinegar and an equal amount of dishwasher rinse aid. To this, add two packets of baking powder and shake well. Spray this solution onto the cabin surface and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Later, wipe the surface with a damp sponge and rinse thoroughly. Your shower cabin will take on a sparkling clean appearance.
