VD Global, a company from Surat in India, discovered a unique "diamond within a diamond". Already named the "Beating Heart", the authenticity of this stone was confirmed by laboratory tests, according to the Times of India.

The "Beating Heart" comprises two more extensive stones housing a second, much smaller diamond. Interestingly enough, this little diamond can move freely within the larger one.

The stone weighed 0.329 carats and was found in its raw state in October last year. The Gem and Jewelry Export Promotion Council, established by the Indian government, officially authenticated the "Beating Heart", adding to the small group of similar diamonds, like Siberia's "Matryoshka" diamond.

After the discovery, VD Global contacted the international corporation De Beers. The diamond was transferred to Great Britain, where a team of experts conducted a thorough analysis.

"In my 30 years of working in the diamond sector, I certainly have never seen anything like the 'Beating Heart'", said Samantha Sibley from De Beers Group Ignite.

Interestingly, another similar diamond was discovered in Siberia. Dubbed "Matryoshka", it was noticed in Yakutsk during sorting due to its unique resemblance.

The "Matryoshka" weighs only 0.62 carats, and its authenticity was confirmed using several testing methods, including spectroscopy, infrared, and micro-CT.

The formation process of such a diamond still befuddles researchers, with scientists theorizing that initially, the inner diamond forms, followed by the rapid growth of the outer one.
