According to a report by German security agencies, drones appeared on December 3 and 4 over the U.S. Armed Forces area, which plays a key role as a military hub in Europe.

The origin of the drones could not be determined, and they were also seen over facilities of the defense conglomerate Rheinmetall and the chemical giant BASF.

A spokeswoman for the Ramstein base confirmed that in early December, several small, unmanned aerial systems were observed. However, she emphasized that they had no impact on the base residents or military equipment.

Reaction of German authorities

For months, German security agencies and politicians have been addressing the issue of possible spy flights. This topic was discussed at a conference of interior ministers from the federal and state governments, which took place last week. Nevertheless, participants did not reach an agreement on counteracting such incidents.

"Der Spiegel" emphasizes that the situation is being monitored, and German authorities are trying to determine who is behind these flights. However, there are still no concrete findings regarding the origin of the drones. These events raise concerns, especially in the context of the security of strategic facilities in Germany.
