Unexplained deaths plague Russian military elite: Sviridov's case

Vladimir Sviridov, the former commander of Russia's 6th Air Force and Air Defense Army, has been found dead in his home. The exact cause of his death has yet to be determined, as reported by the Kremlin services.

The deceased, Sviridov, was discovered on November 15 at his residence in the Stavropol Territory. Alongside the serviceman, his 72-year-old wife, Tatiana, was also found dead, according to reports from Kanał24.ua.

As reported by Russian media, initial investigations suggest that the couple may have been dead for approximately a week before they were found. The investigators' evidence does not point to violent deaths.

Examinations of the premises found no exceeds in the permissible concentrations of harmful substances. The cause of the couple's death remains undetermined.

Kanał24.ua reports that this incident adds another case to the growing list of sudden and mysterious deaths among high-ranking military personnel from the Kremlin.

Reports of deaths among top-tier Russian leaders, as well as figures from the administrative and security sectors, have been surfacing since the onset of Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine.

The string of mysterious deaths includes figures such as Leonid Shulman, head of the transport service at Gazprom Invest; Vladislav Avajev, former deputy chairman of Gazprombank; Sergei Protosyenya, ex-CEO of gas company Novatek; Lev Sotskov, a Foreign Intelligence Service general; retired Federal Security Service general Yevgeny Lobachov; Deputy Head of Russian Internal Affairs Main Administration for Counter-Extremism General Vladimir Makarov; and Pavel Kamnev, a designer of Caliber maneuvering missiles. In some instances, the deaths have been ruled suicides.
