As bloggers emphasize, the bridge's destruction has cut off part of the Glushkovsky district, which borders Ukraine, from the rest of the region. The bridge also played a critical logistical role for Russian forces.

"Now Russian soldiers in the south of the Glushkovsky district are forced to use crossings and pontoon bridges," wrote blogger Podolaka. He added that the destroyed bridge was located near the village of Karyzh.

Evacuation of Kursk

The first bridge in the Glushkovsky district was destroyed by Ukrainian forces on Friday, and the second one on Sunday.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have been conducting operations in the Kursk region of Russia since August 6. Over 1,700 residents of the area were evacuated in the last 24 hours, reported Irina Tolmacheva, a spokeswoman for the region governor, cited by Russian media on Sunday.

She emphasized that currently, more than 7,000 evacuees are in 84 temporary accommodation centers in the Kursk region.
