Ukrainians blast Russian 'Terminator' to oblivion using FVP drones near Eastern Ukraine
Sergei Sternenko, a Ukrainian activist and blogger, shared a video on social media demonstrating FVP drones decimating the Russian "Terminator". He mentioned on platform X (previously known as Twitter), "Ukrainian soldiers from the 110th Brigade, in collaboration with support units, effectively eradicated the uncommon Russian armored vehicle BMPT". He further noted that only a handful of "Terminators" are possessed by Russia, with each unit costing between 1.5 to 2 million dollars.

The BMPT "Terminator" is an imposing combat tank support vehicle manufactured by the Russian company Uralvagonzavod. It was designed using the T-72 MBT tank chassis as a blueprint, although versions based on the T-90 tank chassis, also known as Putin's pride, can also be found. The chassis is outfitted with additional reactive armor compact blocks loaded with explosive material, augmenting its safeguards against shaped charges. It's worth noting that the entire shell is an amalgam of composite, reactive, and steel armor.
The informal nomenclature of this BMPT, the "Terminator", is attributed to its innovators. They assigned this name to the vehicle, paying tribute to its potent armament and armor. The "Terminator" weighs 52 US tons, features a hull length of 23 feet, a width of 12.5 feet, and stands 11.8 feet tall. It is capable of accommodating a five-person crew. The BMPT "Terminator" range is roughly estimated at 342 miles, while its maximum speed is gauged between 37-40 mph.
The "Terminator's" formidable armament incorporates four 9M120 Ataka missile launchers, two 2A42 automatic 30 mm cannons, two AG-17D grenade launchers, and a coaxial PKTM machine gun measuring 7.62 mm. This vehicle functions in multiple roles, although its core role is to support tanks, especially in an urban warfare environment where they become vulnerable targets.
