"This year, Ukraine held its ground from all directions," the Ukrainian president noted on Telegram, during the final Supreme Commander's Staff meeting of 2023.

"We continue to operate as a unified team," Zelensky affirmed.

"We critically assessed the results of our combat operations and decisions. We reflected on our victories and identified areas where we could improve," the president stated. He concluded with, "Notably, this year Ukraine regained control of the sea and bolstered the safety of our airspace".

According to the Interfax-Ukraine agency, the Supreme Commander’s Staff discussed Ukraine's military strategy for the forthcoming year.

In the latter months of this year, clashes with Russian forces were primarily concentrated in the south and east of Ukraine.
