In media covering military topics, a report prepared by the 38th Scientific-Research Institute of Armored Vehicles of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation drew attention. After analyzing one of the captured M2A2 Bradleys in Ukraine, Russian experts pointed out that it is significantly better than the BMP-3.

M2A2 Bradley vs CV90 - Ukrainians give their verdict

In an interview on the Armia TV channel, Ukrainian military personnel from the 47th Mechanized Brigade shared their thoughts on the capabilities of the American M2A2 Bradley. Their opinions were compared with statements from soldiers of the 21st Mechanized Brigade, who use the Swedish CV90s.

Among the biggest advantages of the M2A2 Bradley, they highlighted its very high level of protection, its armament including the M242 Bushmaster automatic cannon and an anti-tank guided missile launcher, as well as a large troop compartment.

Regarding the CV90, Ukrainian soldiers noted its high durability, speed, high rate of fire, and the Barracuda camouflage, which reduces the vehicle's thermal signature, making it harder to detect by enemy observation methods.

The best infantry fighting vehicles for Ukrainians

Both infantry fighting vehicles are rated as the best equipment of their kind in the world, repeatedly saving the lives of Ukrainian soldiers. They do not indicate a clear winner in this comparison.

Ukrainians consider both the M2A2 Bradley and the CV90 very durable, providing protection against enemy fire and mines. The M2A2 Bradley offers greater firepower and better optics, while the CV90 is more agile and faster. This is notable, considering the M2A2 Bradley is powered by a Cummins VTA-903T engine with 670 horsepower, whereas the CV90 features a 1340 horsepower engine.

As part of the USA's support, about 300 units of the M2A2 Bradley have been sent to Ukraine. The Swedes have delivered 50 CV90s, with an additional 40 to be sent to the front with help from Denmark (which ordered them intending to send them to the front as soon as possible).
