The Armed Forces of Ukraine posted a video showing how they destroyed additional Russian crossings in the Kursk region. Thanks to these actions, Ukrainians managed to cut off part of the Glushkovo district from the rest of the region.

The special forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have posted a video on social media showing their actions in the Kursk region. It’s a compilation of recordings that show Ukrainians destroying more crossings on the Sejm River. One of the pontoon bridges was bombed while it was still under construction.

The video also captured the targeting and destruction of a military equipment depot, including weapons and fuel.

Ukrainians aim to encircle Russians

Russian units defending the territory in the Kursk region, wedged between the Sejm River and the border with Ukraine, face encirclement after Ukraine destroyed the bridges. The crossings were the only route for supplying the units and for their retreat, writes "The New York Times," commenting that the Armed Forces of Ukraine aim to lure the Russians "into a trap." "The bombing of the bridges was intended to trap the Russian troops stationed there," the newspaper reads.

The first bridge in the Glushkovo district was destroyed by Ukrainian forces on Friday, and the second on Sunday. The last of the bridges fell on Monday.

As noted by NYT, it is unknown how many Russian soldiers remain in the area between the Sejm River and the border with Ukraine. However, if the Armed Forces get close to the riverbank, they will have an undeniable advantage in the form of a natural barrier against any Russian counterattack.
